Job description

Role Summary –

Manager – Legal will bear responsibility to provide legal support to the Group in Commercial Law including agreements and related documentation, Labor Law and industrial disputes, and liaison & coordination with external agencies.

Job Description –
Draft and/or review legal documents, contracts and agreements and monitor legal obligations under agreements to ensure compliance. Provide legal advice and support to the Group regarding real estate, transactions, contracts and statutory compliance. Handle registrations of the Group and subsidiaries under the Companies Act and Intellectual Property Law. Identify risks with in the business, examine and evaluate the adequacy of controls available for mitigation and/or elimination of risks. Communicate audit findings to the senior management, ensure observations are supported by appropriate evidence and issues are articulated clearly. Contribute to the development of processes within the Group to improve overall quality of service delivery. Develop a portfolio of legal services to be offered across the Group along with the cost estimate. Trade Mark Registration. Handling Notarial work. Provide other functions with support beyond scope of responsibilities in order to achieve common organizational goals. Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager. Cooperate with other departments to achieve organizational goals.

Person Specification
Attorney at Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka with a Notary License. 05+ years of experience in handling corporate law including company secretarial work. Setting priorities and meeting challenging deadlines. Analytical mindset. Problem-solving skills. Communication skills. Negotiation skills. Strong professional orientation.
