JUNIOR DESIGNER (MDS,RATHMALANA)

Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining the as a Junior Designer. This role would enable you Work within the design eco-system to support the development, conceptualization and design of product in line, assist in the execution of sessional collections, product development, fabrication and colors required to ensure the product created is brand right and in line with customer needs and organizational capabilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Together with the designer/ Senior designer conduct research trends and competitor market analysis in order to draw on insights for the conceptualization of news ideas that can be utilized in building a creative collection for the next season that is in alignment with the need of the customer and business.
• Assist in creating/ developing sketches, tech packs and deign packages for the customer in adherence to the seasonal calendar whilst ensuring accuracy of data entered into the PLM System so as to ensure on time delivery and adherence to customer requirements.
• Assist in reviewing concept garments, costs and sourcing of raw materials together with the designer and team to ensure products are technically feasible and meet the target prices set.
• Responsible for administration and follow up of product design process to include RM tracker, style tracker, concept fit tracker, organize pot dyes, etc. to ensure samples development and critical paths meet the stipulated time frames.
• Responsible for assisting in setting up customer presentations including formal design boards, highlighting fabrics, room display set up, collating any required samples to ensure product created is brand right, attractive and commercially viable to the customer.
• Regularly attend fit sessions with the Designer, revise the sketch and design packs accordingly to ensure garments meet the aesthetic requirements specified by the customer.
• Clearly communicate and connect with cross functionally teams to maintain up to date information on each style and manage lead times to ensure on time delivery.
• Ensure adherence to MAS values, practices, policies by maintaining effective collaborative relationships, taking pride in the company and brand, embracing diversity in all facets of the position and representing a passion for excellence.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Degree / Diploma in Fashion Design or related field preferred.
• 0-1 years of related industry experience (entry level) would be highly advantageous.
• Computer knowledge, experience with Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel and PowerPoint
• Understanding of basic garment fit and construction and fabric knowledge.
• Ability to perform basic flat sketches.
