Executive – Commercial & Logistics (BASED AT BIYAGAMA)

We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to smooth, efficient functioning of export pre/post and import documentation and maximize use of Lean tools to Improve all related activities in Inbound and outbound operations in order to provide flexible, value-added service to all customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the team and co-ordinate with internal and external departments in order to develop continuous improvement (Kaizen) and systematic problem-solving culture within the Commercial and Logistics team.
• Responsible for referring terms and references in inbound logistical operations, comply to rules and regulations to prepare all the relevant documents promptly in order to ensure the smooth clearance of goods to the immediate customers.
• Co-ordinate with teams and use lean tools to identify possible failures and make sure to implement preventive actions and counter measures in order to avoid unnecessary cost of failures and penalties for the organization.
• Co-ordinate with stakeholders for the submission of banking documents required to meet budgeted documents ensuring cash timelines whilst providing regular reports and feedback to the internal and external parties and effectively utilize reports to improve productivity and optimize services.
• Investigate issues and ensure the effective use of problem-solving tools and techniques in order to eliminate the root cause of problem and thereby meet organizational requirements in a cost-effective manner, ensure to monitor and highlight unnecessary cost increase related Exports.
• Ensure adherence to organizational standards such as SOPs, compliance standards, health and safety and 5S. whilst, making suggestions to improve the working situation within their area of work in Commercial and Logistics department.
• Ensure that the environment, safety and health standards of the organization are adhered to while actively contribute towards promoting a culture of safety and environmental consciousness within and outside the organization.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management or relevant field.
• 1-2 years of experience in similar capacity.
• Good communication and IT literacy.
• A good team player with interpersonal skills
