Job Profile

The ENSURE project is an eight-month collaborative initiative between World Vision Lanka and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), with generous financial contributions from the people of Japan. The project aims to provide shelter and assistance to survivors of gender-based violence by establishing Emergency Waiting Areas (EWA) at selected police stations across the island.

The Administration assistant will be placed at the World Vision Lanka National office. He will be reporting to the senior coordinator – ENSURE project Sheltering and Assisting Survivors of Gender-Based Violence while having matrix reporting to supervisor – administration/cooperative service.

Major Responsibilities
• Safe and responsible driving of office vehicles.
• Routine maintenance and care of vehicles in line with the specific technical procedures and requirements as stated in the vehicle operations manual.
• Maintain the log book of the vehicle & time sheets properly.
• Checks all repair work performed in shop for completeness. This includes physical inspections and road tests before vehicle is turned back to user departments.
• Maintain the running condition and proper interior & exterior condition of vehicle.
• Provide support for Administrative officers in building maintenance and repairs.
• Responsible for keeping required documentation and filling travel records, cash advances & settlement, incident reporting, response to information request claims etc.

Required qualifications, experience & competencies
• Valid heavy vehicle driving license with 6 years’ work experience in driving.
• Previous work experience in an INGO/NGO or corporate sector would be an advantage.
• Minimum formal education with G.C.E (Ordinary level) six passed or Adequate Vocational qualifications.
• Knowledge of diesel and gas engine mechanics; considerable knowledge of vehicle make-up; considerable knowledge of workshops and the parts and supplies required.
