Senior Software Engineer (Android)

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and build mobile applications for Warehouse Domain using Android

2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

3. Work with external integrations with third-party APIs.

4. Unit, UI, Integration, and component test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.

5. Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.

6. Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

7. Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.

8. Support for production rollouts, deployments, and incidents.

Expected Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 2. Minimum of 5 years experience in hands-on Android app development.

3. Ability to write clean, well-structured, and maintainable code

4. Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java programming languages.

5. In-depth knowledge of Android SDK, NDK, and Android Studio.

6. Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON.

7. Experience with third-party libraries and APIs especially RxJava or similar technologies.

8. Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.

9. Experience with automation frameworks such and Appium, REST Assured and Roboelectric

10. Knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.

11. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with mobile app development for warehouse or supply chain industry & experience working with Rugged Devices.

• Experience with barcode scanning and RFID technologies.

• Experience with real-time data synchronization.

• Experience with performance optimization and testing.

• Experience with Agile development methodologies.

• Experience in API development using Java or Javascript is an added advantage.

• Familiarity with continuous integration with Jenkins.
