Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned and detail-oriented Senior Legal Officer to join our legal team at Port City Colombo. The ideal candidate will provide expert legal advice and support across a wide range of matters related to our operations and development. This role requires a strong understanding of Sri Lankan law, excellent drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities
• Drafting of Sale Agreements for condominium units
• Drafting lease agreements and deeds of transfer for completed condominium units
• Advising the management on matters relating to the apartment ownership law
• Attesting notarial agreements
• Liaising with purchasers and external lawyers
• Liaising with the Port City Commission on various matters relating to the Project work
• Assist in company secretarial matters
• Preparation of Building Contract using FIDIC format
• Reviewing and drafting of commercial contracts

Key Requirement
• An Attorney-at Law with a Notarial license to practice in English possessing at least 8-10 years’ experience in real estate (mixed-use) development or in a law firm focusing on such aspect.
• Experience and industry knowledge that includes purchase and sale transactions, lease transactions, and property management.
• Ability to adapt new concept and explore the possibility to enforce locally.
• Attentive to details and careful on deadlines.
• Responsible, able to handle file independently and to report to management on a regular basis.
• Good connection with the local lawyers’ community.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be fluent in English.
• Bachelor’s degree in law.
