Job Summary
The Senior Human Resources (HR) Manager will be responsible for leading and managing HR operations, ensuring the development and implementation of effective HR policies, procedures, and workflows. This role is instrumental in overseeing all HR functions, including recruitment, performance management, employee development, payroll, and overall employee well-being. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, capable of fostering a positive workplace culture that aligns with Central Park Puppies’ values and objectives. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Senior HR Manager will play a critical role in driving HR initiatives and supporting business growth. Additionally, this role requires the ability to head the HR & Admin department, manage the HR team effectively, and ensure smooth HR and administrative operations at all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
HR Policy Development and Implementation:
• Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures that comply with legal regulations and align with business objectives.
• Ensure HR practices comply with labor laws and industry best practices.
HR & Admin Department Management:
• Oversee daily HR and administrative operations, ensuring all HR functions are executed efficiently.
• Manage HR budgets and track departmental performance through key HR metrics.
• Lead and manage the HR & Admin department, ensuring clear communication, task delegation, and accountability.
• Develop and execute HR strategies that align with business goals and contribute to company growth.
Leadership and Employee Development:
• Lead, mentor, and develop HR team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to employees.
• Ensure the HR team operates effectively and maintains high standards of professionalism and service.
Payroll and Compensation Management:
• Oversee payroll processes to ensure accuracy and timely employee compensation.
• Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance and incentives.
Talent Acquisition and Retention:
• Lead the recruitment process, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding.
• Develop strategies to attract and retain top talent, ensuring alignment with business needs.
Performance Management:
• Implement performance appraisal systems to evaluate employee contributions.
• Provide guidance on performance-related matters and facilitate improvement plans when necessary.
HR Budget and Expense Management:
• Monitor and control HR-related expenses within the approved budget.
• Identify cost-effective solutions to optimize HR operations.
Employee Engagement and Well-being:
• Design and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and workplace satisfaction.
• Foster a positive work environment that supports well-being and productivity.
Training and Development:
• Assess training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
• Encourage a learning culture within the organization.
Onboarding and Offboarding:
• Oversee the onboarding process to ensure a seamless integration of new employees.
• Manage offboarding procedures, including exit interviews and documentation.
Succession Planning:
• Develop and implement succession plans to ensure leadership continuity and mitigate risks related to key position vacancies.
Employee Relations and Conflict Resolution:
• Address employee grievances fairly and effectively.
• Implement disciplinary actions in compliance with company policies and legal guidelines.
Time Tracking and Compliance:
• Oversee the usage of Hubstaff time tracking for accurate work hour monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and address any discrepancies in employee timesheets.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and compliance regulations.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities, with the capability to head the HR & Admin department effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to analyze HR metrics and provide actionable insights.
• Proficiency with HR software and project management software such as Clickup and Jiraa.
• Ability to communicate well and professionally in English across Sri Lanka and other international countries.
