RFP Contract Lawyer (Sri Lanka)

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RFP Contract Lawyer to join our team on a remote basis. As an RFP Contract Lawyer, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and drafting legal documents related to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and contract agreements. Your expertise in contract law, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills will be essential in ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and negotiating favorable terms for our organization. This is a remote position open to applicants based in Sri Lanka.

Responsibilities
• Review, analyze, and interpret Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to identify legal requirements, risks, and opportunities for our organization.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contract agreements, including but not limited to, services agreements, vendor agreements, licensing agreements, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including business development, procurement, and finance teams, to ensure compliance with legal requirements and alignment with business objectives.
• Conduct legal research to stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices, and provide guidance and recommendations to the organization.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with RFPs and contracts, and propose strategies to protect the organization’s interests.
• Prepare legal opinions, memoranda, and other documents to support the organization’s legal position.
• Communicate and negotiate with external parties, including clients, vendors, and legal representatives, to resolve contractual issues and ensure contract terms are fair and advantageous.
• Assist in the development and implementation of contract management processes, including templates, workflows, and tracking systems.
• Maintain accurate and organized documentation of contracts, amendments, and related legal correspondence.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution. A Master’s degree in Law or related field is a plus.
• Admitted to practice law in Sri Lanka with an active practicing certificate.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Contract Lawyer, preferably with exposure to RFPs and contract negotiations.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of contract law, commercial law, and intellectual property law.
• Proven experience in drafting and negotiating various types of contracts.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify legal risks and propose effective solutions.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
• Proficiency in legal research and familiarity with legal databases and resources.
• Experience in the technology industry or working with technology-related contracts is a plus.
• Familiarity with international contract law and cross-border transactions is desirable.
• Fluency in English is required.
