Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Payroll and Finance Assistant at Mind Plus located in Colombo. The Payroll and Finance Assistant will be responsible for managing payroll processes, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing administrative support to the finance department. The Payroll and Finance Assistant will also assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll administration or a related field.
• Proficiency in payroll processing software and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees and stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Additional Requirements:
• Experience in financial administration or accounting tasks is advantageous.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and automated payroll processing tools.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
• Familiarity with benefits administration and compliance (health insurance, retirement plans, etc.).
• Knowledge of tax filing procedures related to payroll (e.g., W-2 forms, quarterly filings).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and across departments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenges independently.

Responsibilities:
• Process payroll for employees accurately and on time, including calculations for wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements throughout payroll processing.
• Maintain precise payroll records and update employee data in the payroll system as necessary.
• Address employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and taxes in a timely manner.
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and other stakeholders as needed.
• Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
• Assist in the preparation and filing of payroll tax returns and other required reports.
• Collaborate with the HR team to ensure accurate employee data and smooth payroll processes.
• Contribute to special HR projects and initiatives as assigned
