Responsibilities

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester invites applications for a full-time therapist position to join its Behavioral Health Partners (BHP) team. BHP provides mental health care to eligible University of Rochester employees and their adult dependents in an outpatient setting. Our multidisciplinary team works together to provide medication consultation and psychotherapy for common conditions such as anxiety, stress, depression, and ADHD.

This role entails a distribution of clinical responsibilities with a primary focus on assessing, diagnosing, and treating ADHD, and secondary focus on other conditions such as stress, depression, and anxiety. Provides expertise in evidence- based treatments, is skilled in collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and collaborates effectively with primary care providers.

BHP therapists serve as primary clinicians and are responsible for the provision of goal focused, evidence-based, services in alignment with the BHP model of care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides direct clinical services to assigned patients, including evaluation, individual therapy and crisis intervention.
• Under general direction and with considerable latitude for independent judgment performs complex psychosocial assessments and diagnostic formulations for patients and their families when indicated.
• Ensures the development and implementation of comprehensive and individualized treatment plans for patients with clearly defined therapeutic goals; conducts evidence-informed treatment with patients.
• Documents treatment in patient’s electronic medical record in compliance with Program, Department and Hospital regulations.
• Meets minimum target for clinical productivity set by service director.
• Mobilizes family and natural support networks when clinically indicated.
• Assesses successful completion of therapeutic goals and plans termination of therapy accordingly.
• Participates collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team to provide coordinated care.
• Collaborates with referral sources and other professionals both internal and external throughout patient care activities.
• Coordinates with Primary Care Physicians to ensure continuity of care.
• Establishes and regularly maintains cooperative working relationships with community and healthcare agencies, as well as professional and administrative staff of the Medical Center University.
• Coordinates with support staff regarding patient scheduling, fees, and insurance issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s degree from a Counsel for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) accredited program with major course work in mental health counseling required.
• 3 years’ experience required
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Required:
• Communication and organizational skills
• High level of proficiency in MS Office programs
• Requires NYS licensure as a mental health practitioner (e.g., Mental Health Counselor, Creative Arts Therapist) or limited permit eligible. If licensure has not been obtained upon employment, the individual has 36 months to obtain the NYS license.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $59,218 – $82,867 Annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
