Role Profile – Manager, Financial Accounting & Control
The main responsibilities include preparing, developing, and analyzing financial information to support the Foundation of Goodness’ senior management in making well-informed decisions, ensuring future stability, growth, and sustainability. The role emphasizes core accounting skills, working across various cost centre’s to support the entire organization. The selected candidate will assist the Financial Controller and the team in performing monthly closing and entity control activities.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
· Performing financial transactions in the general ledger and sub-ledgers, including recording and verifying financial data.
· Preparing month-end accounts, closing ledgers, and reviewing processes to ensure the accuracy of I & E statements and Balance Sheet, while meeting all group reporting deadlines.
· Preparing financial reconciliations, and analyses relating to transactions.
· Supporting management reporting processes, including analysis and reports.
· Ensuring adherence to internal controls as per group policies and the financial control framework.
· Collaborating in identifying and supporting current continuous improvement activities.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
· A finance degree or be a passed finalist of a recognized professional institute (CIMA/ACCA/CA).
· A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
· A consistent track record in:
o Processing core accounting transactions and consolidations to ensure balances are correctly reflected in the general ledger.
o Managing financial control processes, including account reconciliations and substantiations.
o Producing and delivering reporting packs/schedules to represent financial performance.
· Hands-on experience with SAGE or QuickBooks (preferred).
· Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel.
· Strong communication skills in oral and written English.
· Adaptability to a fast-changing environment to meet priorities and deadlines.
· A strong process orientation with the ability to design robust reporting frameworks.
· The ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues.
· The ability to maximize opportunities by challenging ways of working, embracing group practices, and seeking/providing information and clarification.
· Accuracy and impeccable attention to detail.
