We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administration Manager to oversee the management, optimization, and security of our on-premise MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, performance tuning, high availability solutions, and security best practices. This role requires an individual who can ensure database integrity, scalability, and efficiency while aligning with business needs.

Job Role:
• Manage day-to-day operations of on-premise MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle databases, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Develop and implement database strategies, policies, and best practices for optimization and security.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
• Ensure robust backup, failover, and disaster recovery strategies are in place.
• Plan and execute database capacity expansion and migration projects as needed.
• Lead a database administrator function and ensure smooth operations across multiple database instances.
• Implement security policies to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Work closely with application development teams to optimize database queries and indexing strategies.
• Develop and maintain database documentation, including architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging database technologies and recommend enhancements for efficiency and performance.
• Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and internal teams for database licensing, support, and upgrades.
• Any other tasks/projects as requested by the Management.

Candidate Requirements:
• Passionate about Sri Lanka; you’re committed to making a positive impact for our Country and its people.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in database administration, with expertise in MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle database management.
• Strong expertise in database performance tuning, optimization, and high availability architectures.
• Hands-on experience with database replication, clustering, and failover strategies.
• Experience with automation, monitoring tools, and scripting (e.g., SQL, Shell, Python, Ansible) would be an advantage.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring technical teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-pressure situations.
• Proficiency in budgeting, cost optimization, and vendor management.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), MySQL Database Administrator Certification, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or equivalent are a plus.
• Should be able to work in person from our office located in Colombo/Kelaniya.
