The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in its continuous drive to expand its capacity to better serve the business community of the country wishes to recruit a self-motivated individual to fill the below vacancy:
Management Executive – Associations and Business Councils
Job Role
The ideal candidate would be expected to extend managerial services to the assigned Associations & Business Councils of the Chamber which includes;
• Manage all activities necessary for the effective and ongoing operation of Trade Associations and Bilateral Business Councils, which includes the convening of meetings and taking minutes of the proceedings, follow-up action
• Manage multiple number of events at a given time such as Business Luncheon meetings, Networking events, Social gatherings, facilitating inward/Outward business delegations, Organizing of B2B meetings, Seminars/Webinars, Forums etc.
• Conduct AGM’s according to the guidelines stipulated in the Constitutions.
• Promote various events in the form of circulars to the members of the chambers, e-mail marketing to different target industries, social media marketing etc.
• Serve as the point of contact in the managed Trade Associations and Business Councils.
• Liaise with diplomatic missions in Sri Lanka and Overseas, Chambers of Commerce, and other Trade Promotion Organizations to jointly enhance business opportunities available to members and non-members/potential members.
• Coordinate with Embassies, High commissions and Consul General Offices overseas as and when necessary for Council activities.
• Prepare Annual reports, Trade circulars, Newsletters, PR articles, Letters etc. as required
• Assist with other activities of the Chamber as needed.
The candidate must have;
• Preferably a graduate in a recognized University/Institute OR Part Professional Qualification in Business Management / Business Administration or related
• At least 02 to 03 years working experience in a similar capacity
• Excellent command in both verbal and written communication in English language with excellent presentation skills, interpersonal skills
• Excellent planning and organizing skills with attention to detail
• Computer literate with MS Office Applications
• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with the ability to operate autonomously.
