The company works with a large portfolio of Sri Lankan business as well as several significant foreign clients.
We are looking for an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to manage and support Red Hat Linux-based infrastructure. The role is primarily focused on Red Hat systems, with occasional responsibilities on Windows servers for validation testing.
This position is ideal for a skilled Linux professional seeking an opportunity to manage critical Red Hat systems, ensure smooth daily operations, and work on a flexible alternating weekly schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
• Log Monitoring: Regularly monitor system logs on Linux servers and promptly address any issues identified.
• Backup Oversight: Ensure the successful completion of backups, identifying and resolving any failures.
• Morning System Validation: Conduct morning checks of key systems to ensure their readiness and functionality for daily operations.
• Linux Server Management: Manage JBoss and other application servers, monitor and maintain storage capacity, and ensure the performance, availability, and security of Red Hat Linux systems.
• MySQL Server Management: Manage MySQL servers, ensuring optimal performance, security, and data integrity.
• Access and Security Management: Manage access controls and security configurations for all Red Hat servers.
• Validation Testing: Perform validation tests on Red Hat systems, with occasional logins to Windows servers for specific tasks
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of industry experience including experience working directly with US or European clients.
• 5+ years of experience in Linux administration, with a focus on Red Hat systems.
• 3+ years of experience managing Linux servers, including JBoss, storage capacity, and security.
• 3+ years of experience managing MySQL servers.
• Basic experience in Windows Server administration for validation testing.
• Strong experience with Linux system logs, validation testing, and performance monitoring
• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts and handle incident response when necessary.
Work Schedule:
• Odd weeks: Monday to Friday
• Even weeks: Wednesday to Sunday
