In-House Counsel

Job description
Invictus Law is a boutique law firm with a special focus on areas of commercial and corporate transactions, real-estate transactions, corporate law, secretarial and employment law. The firm is seeking aspiring Attorneys-at-Law to join its team as an In-house Legal Counsel.

Key Responsibilities include:
• Understanding and applying the appropriate laws and regulations
• Conducting consultations with the client
• Providing dispute resolution advice and drafting of legal proceedings in civil and commercial litigation matters
• Overseeing the filing of documents in court
• Overlooking the maintenance of internal legal records and legal documents
• Co-ordinating with the members of the legal team in litigation matters
• Liaising with external counsels
• Liaising and maintaining a good relationship with corporate clients
• Updating the client subsequent to each court date
• Overlooking the maintenance of internal legal records and legal documents

Specific qualifications and experience
• An Attorney-at-Law preferably with a LLB Degree from a recognised local or foreign university
• Previous experience in litigation
• Understanding of the Civil Procedure Code and the Criminal Procedure Code
• Excellent English language skills in speaking and writing
• Literacy in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
• Good communication, interpersonal and team skills
• Articulate, analytical and have a decisive personality
• Prior experience in Labour and Employment law related matters would be an added advantage
