POSITION: Human Resources Business Partner (Manager/Head)

LOCATION: Colombo, Sri Lanka

SALARY: LKR 500,000 + Fuel (negotiable)

OVERVIEW: We are looking for an experienced HR Manager/Head HRBP to lead our client’s HR team, a leading printing company in Colombo. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing the HR and business strategies, ensuring the delivery of efficient HR support services, and collaborating closely with the site’s senior leadership team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in HR management within a manufacturing setting, particularly in environments with JCC/ trade union interactions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strategic Management: Provide HR leadership and business partnering to all functions across the site. Oversee and guide the local HR team to deliver a high-quality operational HR service. Collaborate in developing and implementing HR and business strategies with a focus on local site requirements.
• Rewards and Benefits: Manage the salary structure, pay policies, and oversee variable pay systems, including bonuses and increments. Lead annual salary reviews, bonus schemes, and pay negotiations. Conduct market research to establish competitive pay practices.
• Employee Relations: Implement best practices in employee relations to manage absenteeism, redundancies, and grievances. Facilitate collective bargaining negotiations with the union and advise on employment trends and legislative changes. Support managers in handling day-to-day HR matters.
• Performance Management: Oversee the performance management system and ensure alignment with group and site HR strategies. Address performance issues and support managers in performance reviews and development plans.
• Talent Management: Drive talent development, succession planning, and coaching initiatives. Lead the site’s talent and capability reviews and support organizational-wide coaching culture.
• Learning and Development: Develop and implement training and development strategies to meet both site and group requirements. Assess training needs and ensure effective learning programs are in place.
• Resourcing: Lead recruitment and workforce planning efforts to align with business objectives. Promote equality and diversity and ensure cost-effective hiring practices.
• Communication and Engagement: Spearhead employee engagement initiatives and manage site communications to support positive change.
• Health and Safety: Collaborate with Health and Safety teams to implement policies and manage medical issues. Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety standards.
• Change Management: Lead and coordinate change management projects, advising on implications and facilitating necessary actions.
• Other Duties: Assist in organizing staff events and ensure adherence to security, health, safety, and environmental policies.

PRE-REQUISITES:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Human Resources or a related field.
• At least 5 years of HR experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience in managing JCC/ trade union relations.
• Comprehensive understanding of local labor markets and employment laws.
• Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies and operations.
