Financial Consultant – Sustainable Finance and Banking

co-energi Pvt Ltd, a leading Green Building and MEP consultancy, we are looking for a Financial Consultant with experience in banking, sustainability, and strategic product development. Ideal candidates will have added advantage if he/she possess expertise in ESG integration, sustainability strategies, regulatory compliance (CBSL Taxonomy, IFRS), and stakeholder engagement. Educational Background:
• A degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, or related fields. Additional certifications in ESG, sustainable finance, or climate risk are beneficial but not mandatory.

Experience:
• Banking and Credit Analysis: Experience working in bank lending, with exposure to credit analysis and risk management. Understanding of sustainable finance principles, even if not directly applied in lending.
• Sustainable Lending Practices: Familiarity with ESG criteria integration and responsible lending within local or regional contexts. Experience with related processes, even if from a support or advisory role, is valuable.
• Climate Finance Knowledge: Basic knowledge of green finance instruments like green bonds, climate funds, and grants. Awareness of funding opportunities and an ability to connect financial institutions with climate finance options.
• Sustainability Strategy Development: Experience in advising on or supporting sustainability initiatives within financial institutions, particularly in areas like making operations more climate-friendly.
• Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of CBSL Taxonomy and relevant sustainability regulations. Familiarity with IFRS S1 & S2 standards, with the capacity to guide banks in aligning with these frameworks.
• Market Awareness: Ability to understand the financial sector landscape in Sri Lanka and identify opportunities for developing new sustainability-focused products and services for financial institutions.

Key Competencies:
• Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Development: Skills in engaging with banks, regulators, and international partners to promote sustainable finance and secure technical expertise.
• Strategic Insight and Product Development: Ability to develop a portfolio of sustainable products and services for financial institutions, focusing on creating value in the local context.
• Climate Finance Facilitation: Support financial institutions in accessing climate finance opportunities, including grants and concessionary funding, by identifying suitable funding channels and partnerships.
• Operational Sustainability: Assist financial institutions in making their operations more sustainable through strategic advice and the development of internal sustainability policies.
• Support for Technical Collaboration: Work alongside sustainability experts for specialized tasks such as emissions calculations and align with technical partners to offer comprehensive sustainability solutions.
