POSITION : Director of Finance
SALARY : USD 8,000 – USD $12,000 per month
LOCATION: Kenya
OVERVIEW:
The Director of Finance will play a critical role in shaping and executing the financial strategy of a leading multinational manufacturing company in Kenya. This position is central to driving the company’s financial performance and aligning it with the overall vision and strategic goals. The Director of Finance will work closely with the CEO and the senior leadership team to achieve business growth, operational excellence, and sustainable profitability.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Strategic Financial Leadership:
• Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with the overall business objectives.
• Partner with the CEO and the executive team to drive business performance, providing insights and recommendations on financial planning, investment strategies, and risk management.
• Lead the financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning processes, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
2.Financial Management & Reporting:
• Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses to support decision-making at the executive level.
• Manage the company’s cash flow, capital structure, and working capital to optimize financial performance.
3.Operational Excellence:
• Implement and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial information and compliance with local and international regulations.
• Drive operational efficiency by identifying opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and margin enhancement.
• Lead initiatives to optimize the company’s financial systems, leveraging technology to improve financial operations and reporting.
4.Business Partnering:
• Act as a strategic partner to the CEO, providing financial insights and guidance to support key business decisions.
• Collaborate with business unit leaders to develop and implement strategies that drive revenue growth, market expansion, and operational efficiency.
• Foster a culture of financial accountability across the organization, providing training and support to enhance financial acumen at all levels.
5.Risk Management:
• Identify and mitigate financial risks, including currency fluctuations, market volatility, and regulatory changes.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect the company’s assets and ensure long-term sustainability.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and corporate governance standards.
6.Stakeholder Engagement:
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, investors, and regulatory authorities.
• Prepare and present financial reports to the Board of Directors, shareholders, and other key stakeholders.
• Represent the company in financial matters with external partners, building trust and credibility.
PRE – REQUISITES:
• Fully qualified CA (Chartered Accountant) or CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants).
• Proven experience (10+ years) in a senior financial management role, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
• Overseas working experience is a must.
• Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and financial analysis.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
