Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Chief Quantity Surveyor at Advantis Engineering & Construction in Colombo. The Chief Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for cost control, preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost management, planning, and reporting. The role involves overseeing the financial aspects of construction projects and ensuring cost efficiency.

Duties
• Manage the Advantis Engineering Post Contract Division and Pre Contract QS team while ensuring all operations are operating smoothly.
• Assist in establishing the client’s requirements clearly and accurately by proper inquiries through the marketing department in order to achieve a customer focused outcome and to minimize presumptions.
• Ensure the compiling and submission of tender documents and bill of quantities are completed with precision, by liaising Post QS Team, in order to accommodate bringing new businesses to the organization.
• Ensure compliance with contract documents and retrieve reports on work in progress at sites by liaising with parties such as Department Managers, Project managers and site engineers in order to ensure effectiveness of the contract.
• Overlook the work progress measurements/draft IPA of project QS team and ensure the payment applications timely submitted thereby finalizing costing to be collected from client.
• Liaise with parties such as Department Managers, Project managers and site engineers to certify the progress to be on track.
• Ensure all activities of the department are carried out with due consideration to safety by regular monitoring of work practices, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) in order to comply with the Company’s EHS policy.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or NCT / IQSSL Qualification.
• Should have Min 10 years’ experience in the Construction industry. (Building Construction experience is preferred)
• Familiarity with ICTAD conditions of contract.
• Ability to work based at any site location and willingness to travel.
