JOB TITLE: Assistant Finance Manager – Commercial Planning

FUNCTION: Finance

LOCATION: Colombo, Sri Lanka

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

The role will be responsible for working in partnership with the business to craft business and commercial priorities and ensures insights-led focused resource allocation to unlock key growth opportunities, ensure sustainable competitive advantage and improving top line and bottom-line delivery by unlocking value through advanced revenue management strategies.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
• Ensure that the inputs to the planning cycle are accurate, with the right quality, and the right timing to support the business decision making.
• Perform pricing modelling and scenario analysis based on pricing and excise decisions.
• Use data-led cross-category approach to deliver long-term value through decisions related to pricing.
• Assist in deploying of appropriate forecasting methods, relevant factors, and uncertainty to prepare a robust demand forecast.
• Forecasting and analysing Company’s commercial position, finding opportunities to unlock growth while balancing risks.
• Facilitate for management decision forums with relevant subject matter analysis and data inputs.
• Aligning business decisions with the relevant business partners, with the context needed for best available commercial results.
• Manage stakeholder relationships with suppliers efficiently, improving value and achieving sustainable mutual benefits.
• Acting as owners of control and governance by identifying business risks and then crafting, implementing, and embedding efficient and effective controls to mitigate those risks.
• Acting as an interface between business units and specialised finance functions as required.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent professional accountancy qualification i.e. CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA. MBA will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of financial experience in a leading FMCG company.
• Detailed understanding and knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems, i.e. SAP/ /BI/BCP
• Experience in strategic analysis & planning and execution, performance metrics, project evaluation and commercial acumen.
• Ability to simplify complex situations and synthesize, communicate, and present complex information.
• Insightful, comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty, pro-active, collaborative, and consultative.
• Understand the impact of the accounting processes and practices and any changes in accounting standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate and coordinate efficiently within the DRBU, with partners at varying levels both internally and externally.
• Meticulous, proactive, and can work under pressure with minimum supervision to contribute to change in a dynamic environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to interpret financial data.
• Strong sense of responsibility and urgency with willingness to grow within the organization.
