Job description
Role Overview: The Agriculture Officer will drive the Microfinance business by building strong relationships with rural clientele and other stakeholders. This role involves developing the capabilities of Microfinance Associates to achieve business goals and enhance the Microfinance portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Drive the canvassing and cross-selling of Microfinance products to achieve segment goals.
• Collaborate with external agencies to maximize benefits for HNB’s Microfinance business.
• Provide support for Value Chain Financing arrangements within the Microfinance segment.
• Oversee and monitor active client relationships to increase business volumes, identify new opportunities, and target potential clients.
Academic / Professional Qualifications:
• Degree in Agriculture from a recognized university or a Diploma in Agriculture.
• Intermediate qualification in Applied Banking and Finance or a Diploma from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka is an advantage.
Experience:
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within the Microfinance field or an agriculture-based organization.
• Proven track record in canvassing Microfinance business.
Skills and Capabilities:
• Strong commitment to working in the field and serving at outstation Customer Centres.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with proficiency in MS Excel.
• Strong interpersonal relations and customer service skills.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to relate to the relevant customer segment.
