Job Opportunity: Accounting Assistant at Central Bearings & Machinery (Pvt) Ltd

Central Bearings & Machinery (Pvt) Ltd is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team. This role centers on supporting our finance department’s day-to-day operations, with an added focus on Sri Lankan tax requirements (VAT, SVAT, etc.). We’re seeking someone who wants to grow in the company and eventually become a Senior Accountant’s Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in routine bookkeeping and data entry into accounting systems.
• Prepare and maintain financial records, including invoices, receipts, and transactions.
• Collaborate with the finance team on tax-related tasks, especially VAT and SVAT documentation.
• Help reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Communicate with relevant stakeholders regarding payments, invoices, and queries.

Requirements:
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Familiarity with Sri Lankan tax regulations (VAT & SVAT) is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Good communication skills.
• A “trainable” mindset, open to learning and adapting to new procedures.

Added Advantage:
• Preference will be given to candidates residing in Seeduwa, Ja-Ela, Negombo, Minuwangoda, or Raddolugama.
• Eagerness to take on additional responsibilities and grow into a Senior Accountant’s Assistant role.
