Job description
Job Purpose:
The Accounts Executive will be responsible for maintaining financial records, handling daily accounting tasks, processing invoices, managing payments, and supporting financial reporting to ensure smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:1. Financial Transactions & Record-Keeping
• Record daily financial transactions and update accounting systems.
• Maintain accurate ledgers and reconcile accounts.
• Manage petty cash transactions and maintain cash flow records.
2. Accounts Payable & Receivable
• Generate invoices and follow up on outstanding payments from clients.
• Process vendor payments and reconcile supplier statements.
• Ensure all payments are made on time to avoid late fees.
3. Bank & Cash Reconciliation
• Reconcile bank transactions with financial records.
• Handle cash deposits, withdrawals, and online fund transfers.
4. Payroll & Employee Payments
• Assist in payroll processing, including salary payments and statutory deductions (EPF, ETF, PAYE).
• Manage staff reimbursements and allowances.
5. Financial Reporting & Compliance
• Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports for management.
• Support in tax filing (VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax) and compliance with financial regulations.
• Assist auditors by providing required documents and explanations.
6. Budgeting & Cost Management
• Monitor expenses and ensure they align with the budget.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and report financial discrepancies.
7. Administrative Support
• Maintain financial documentation, including invoices, contracts, and tax records.
• Assist in procurement-related financial activities.
Required Qualifications & SkillsEducational Background:
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Part qualification in ACCA, CIMA, CA Sri Lanka, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Experience:
• 1-3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Experience with QuickBooks, or similar accounting software is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Good communication and time management skills.
